Hot Breadcrumbs widget shows a pathway (breadcrumbs) with link hierarchy of your site. This gives a better idea to the visitors how did they get to this page and what’s the way back. Usage of this WordPress Breadcrumb plugin for showing a link hierarchy also has positive SEO effects and allows better crawling of your site. The plugin will work properly on all content generated by WordPress, including posts, pages, categories, tags, and author pages.
WordPress Breadcrumb Plugin Parameters
Go to your Widgets page and drag and drop the Hot Breadcrumbs widget into any available widget position of your theme. You can reach the WordPress news plugin parameters in Appearance > Widgets > Hot Breadcrumbs. After setup, you will need to configure the widget. WordPress Breadcrumb plugin everything does automatically, so there are not too many parameters that you need to set. It creates a simple widget that has only two options:
- Hide home page link – You can omit the home page link in the widget. If you already have too many links linking to your home page, you can use this option to disable one more home page link that WordPress Breadcrumb plugin creates.
- Separator – You can enter any plain text or HTML content here. It will be used as a separator between links. We allowed HTML here because it’s necessary if you want to use font icons, such as Font Awesome or Genericons.
