    Hi,

I installed the Hot Start theme by creating a new directory, i called it “template”.

I just want to know how to install the template so that the site goes straight

    rather than

I had this problem before so I called the host provider, they moved the files so that root folder worked, however I couldn’t change the files for the background etc as the root was /template/….

Basically I want to know how to install the files so that the site goes straight to root folder

    Hope this question makes sense.

You must do the HotStart installation again. This time upload the files into the site’s root folder, not into the subfolder.

Thanks for the fast reply! Will the site’s root folder be under a name (i’m using godaddy ftp manager to upload the files).

Apologies if i’m wasting your time, very new to all this.

Upload an image, in example image.png into the folder that you think it’s the root folder. Try to access it by entering

in the browser. If you see the image, you are in the right folder, otherwise, try again.

    Uploaded an image

to the folder i thought was the route and it works. When i upload the wp_hot_desinations_hotstart.zip, it says successful, yet nothing appears. hmmm, i guess i need to call up Godaddy.

You should upload wp_hot_desinations_hotstart.zip and unzip it. Make sure the contents of the wp_hot_desinations_hotstart.zip archive (this is actually WP installation files) are in the site’s root folder.

If installer starts when you go to

    then it’s in the root.

Ok, the wp_hot_desinations_hotstart.zip is there. I click “Unarchive”, I’m making sure it’s to the root directory, it says the file was successful unarchived yet when i go to

it goes to “Just another ordinary wordpress site”.

Worth calling GoDaddy up? Not sure what else I can do.

It’s in the right place now but you forgot to delete wp_config.php from the previous installation. The installer now starts. Make sure you are using a CLEAN database for the installation.

    Make sure that:

    1. Database where you are trying to install is EMPTY.
    2. Root folder where you are trying to install DOES NOT contain file wp_config.php. If it exist, delete it.
