When I add a widget to the inset section, is it possible to have the inset widget only display on the homepage and not on the interior pages?

Can I somehow specify which categories post within the inset content area instead of every single item I post? I don’t want the option to go to the next page on the homepage either. OR, when I place a widget in the inset section, can it replace what is being shown?

Is the only way to change the logo through FTP and just replace the file? It would be nice to have that as an option within the wordpress admin area.

Here is my current website using another theme. I’m trying to built it to be similar to your sportal theme.

    Thanks,
    Tim

Yes, it’s possible. In the theme package, you also received Widget Control plugin. You can use it to select pages where to show widgets.

Excellent, I got that installed and it works great. Next question is, Can I set the homepage to not show every single post in the ‘inset’ section? I only want to display what I specify in the widget.

The posts are not shown in the widget position. They are shown in the main content area of the theme. It works as usually, like default WordPress theme. Number of post can be changed by editing theme files, but it will still show all the posts.

On the sportal demo, there are only 4 posts in that area and it only shows part of the post. How do I set that up?

Did you install HotStart. It copies all demo data, so you can see how everything is set up, so you just need to change demo data with your data.

If I install the HotStart, will it keep all of my current posts and pages?

No, HotStart is a new WordPpress installation. Instead of default WordPress site, you would get WordPress site with content as on our demo. Theme and all accompanying plugins will be auto-installed.

Ok, I don’t want to lose my pages and posts so I’m not going to install the HotStart.

I would still like to be able to limit the amount of posts and the length of the posts on the homepage. How can I do that?

Please edit the theme’s PHP file for the home page. You just need to change number of posts that’s in the file main-home.php. The line to be changed is:

    Code:
    ‘posts_per_page’ => 4,

I tried that but it didn’t work.

You didn’t explain how to shorten the post either.

Do you have more than 4 sticky posts? If yes, I need your FTP and WP access to check this. Let me know how many posts you want. Please send data privately using Report to moderator button.

The theme shows the first part of the post, above the “More” tag.
