    HI,
    Can you please clarify how the “Inset” and “Toolbar” Widgets function. I did the hot install, and tried adding some generic text to these widgets, however nothing shows up. I expected the text would either show above or below the content of the page (eventually want to use those widgets to display banner)right above or below content.

    Also tried doing adding text to the “Top” Widget, however don’t see the text display anywhere on page. Also don’t see it on the widget map.

    I ensured widget control had the text showing up on the pages I was testing.

    Thank You,
    Greg

    Hi Greg,

    Please make sure what you selected in the Widget-Control plugin? Did you select those widgets to be published on all pages?

    Best regards

    Hi,
    Yes I made sure that widgets control was set properly. I don’t have issues with displaying items in other widgets, just the ones mentioned. Please help as I would really like to use those widgets for ads.
    Thank You,
    Greg

    Hi Greg,

    There was a bug that’s now fixed. Please re-download template and extract only these files from the archive wp_hot_destinations.zip

    main.php
    main-home.php
    page.php

    Then upload them to /wp-content/themes/wp_hot_destinations using FTP (overwrite existing). After that, you should see the widgets in the INSET and TOOLBAR positions.

    Thank you for reporting this.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick reply. The fix works on the inner pages, however on the Homepage, the “Inset” widget, shows up on the bottom of the content, as opposed to the top of page. Please help.

    Also, where is the “Top” Widget suppose to display. I don’t see it on your widget map, and nothing shows up on page when I put text in there.

    Thank You,
    Greg

    Hi,

    Please make sure that you re-downloaded and re-upload all files that I mentioned above and give me your link. On my test site, on home, post and page, inset is above and toolbar is below the content.

    According to the widget positions map demo.hotjoomlatemplates.com/wordpress/destinations/?page_id=229 there’s no TOP position. You can safely remove this part

    Code:
    register_sidebar( array(
    ‘name’ => ‘Top’ ,
    ‘id’ => ‘top’,
    ‘description’ => ‘Top widget sidebar’,
    ‘before_widget’ => ‘

    ‘,
    ‘after_widget’ => ‘

    ‘,
    ‘before_title’ => ‘

    ‘,
    ‘after_title’ => ‘

    ));

    from file /wp-content/themes/wp_hot_destinations/functions.php

    Hi,
    I redownloaded the template and uploaded the 3 files, which fixed the issue on my inner pages, the widgets now show up on my homepage as well, but the order is wrong on the homepage.

    Please take a look at my site:

    I put in sample text on the hompepage, in the content area, in the inset and in the toolbar. You can see where each one is displayed.

    Also, the margins or padding, on the “inset” and “toolbar” widgets are different than content of the page. Where can I adjust the margins? Tried looking in CSS file, but no luck.

    Thank You for your help,
    Greg

    Perhaps you are not using posts for the home page as on our demo (that’s default after HotStart installation). What will happen if you delete file page-home.php from the theme’s folder?

    You can set padding for INSET and TOOLBAR if you add this in style.css:

    Code:
    .widget_inset, .widget_toolbar { padding:10px; margin:10px; }

    You can change the values for padding and margin.

    Hi, thank you for your help. You are right, I was not using a post, but a static page for my homepage. I deleted the page-home.php file, and now my homepage switched to the “Default Template” and the inset widget is on top.

    However, now the title of my page is also displayed along with the comment box on the homepage, which I don’t want. Can I remove those somehow on the Homepage Only?

    I also saved a copy of that file incase I need to add it back in.

    Really appreciate your help.

    You can edit those two files

    /wp-content/themes/wp_hot_destinations/page.php
    /wp-content/themes/wp_hot_destinations/single.php

    and change this line

    Code:

    to

    Code:

    Thank You, that got rid of the commetns on the homepage (while keeping them on my inner pages)

    Lastly, how can I do the same with the title, so it doesn’t show on the homepage, but shows on all remaining pages.

    Thank You!

    You can edit fole content-page.php and change this line:

    Code:
    <h2 title="” ><a href="” title=”” rel=”bookmark” >

    to this:

    Code:
    <h2 title="” ><a href="” title=”” rel=”bookmark” >
